Sophomore long sprinter Caroline Duffy scored in three events to lead the Saint Joseph's women's track and field squad to a fourth-place team finish at the season-opening Jack Pyrah Invitational, hosted by Villanova and held at Haverford's Alumni Field House on Saturday afternoon.
The Saint Joseph's women's track and field squad returns a two-event defending Atlantic 10 champion, nine Atlantic 10 medalists, three ECAC medalists, and nine ECAC scorers from last season alone and 39 letterwinners in total for the 2017-18 indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. The Hawks welcome 13 freshman additions out of New Jersey (6), Pennsylvania (4), Virginia (2), and Maryland (1). Head coach Melody O'Reilly, now in her third year at the helm, has selected senior high jumper Claudine Andre, senior hurdlers Rose O'Brien and Steph Toland, senior long sprinter Alex Edger, senior middle distance standout Caroline Keegan, and the veteran distance duo of graduate student Sydney Coughlin and senior Cassidy Weimer to captain the Hawks this year.

Saint Joseph's men's track and field senior standout Dan Savage have received United States Track and Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) Division I All-Academic honors for their individual performances during the 2016-17 season. Additionally, the men's track and field squad has earned USTFCCCA All-Academic team honors for the fourth year in a row.
