Fifteen members of the Arizona State men and women's swimming and diving teams received Pac-12 All-Academic honors as announced on Wednesday by Commissioner Larry Scott.
The Arizona State men's swimming and diving team capped off its season Saturday at the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships from the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas. Riley McCormick netted all 28 final points for the Sun Devils, earning ASU a 23rd place finish out of 48 schools.
One day after being awarded his third All-American honor, Riley McCormick was back at it on Friday at the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships from the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. This time, McCormick notched a runner-up finish, taking 2nd place in the 3-meter dive.
Riley McCormick continues to rack up accolades for Arizona State diving. On the opening day of the 2014 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships from the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, McCormick notched an 8th place finish in the 1-meter diving event. By accomplishing this, the now three-time All-American earned himself another first-team award as a Sun Devil.
The NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships will take place this Thursday through Saturday, March 27-29, from the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center from the University of Texas at Austin. For Arizona State, swimmer Alex Coci will be swimming in the 100 and 200 fly, while divers Riley McCormick and Luke Clohessy will dive in all three dives, the 1- and 3-meter dives as well as the platform.

The 2014 Pac-12 title holder in the 200 fly resides in Tempe. After recording the top time in the conference leading up to the Finals, senior Alex Coci notched an NCAA A-cut time on his way to a 1st place finish at Pac-12 Championships. Both Riley McCormick and Luke Clohessy brought home titles on the men's side in diving, but the win was the first time a swimmer placed first for ASU at Pac-12 Championships on either the men's or women's side.
The Arizona State men's swimming squad continues to gain ground on the competition, and with one day remaining at Pac-12 Championships they sit just four points out of fifth place behind Utah. The Sun Devils have accumulated a total of 192 points thus far, much in part due to strong teamwork and consistency in the relays, as well as impressive performances from seniors all the way down to freshman.
Day two of the men's swimming and diving Pac-12 Championships came to a close Thursday night, and aided in part by a fourth place finish in the 200 freestyle relay, Arizona State was able to make a leap into 6th with a total of 100 points.
Leading off postseason strong, the Arizona State men's 200 medley relay swam the second-best time in school history, Wednesday, on the first night of the Pac-12 Men's Swimming Championships in Federal Way, Wash.
